Tablecloths Complement Any Party Theme

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

One of the most important decorating items you need, no matter what event you are preparing for, is table cloths. Whether a simple neighborhood cook out or the most formal wedding, they impact the feel of the occasion. Because table cloths are offered in many different prints and colors, you’ll forever have the ideal cloth for your event.

Printed table cloths can be used as a decoration for every holiday you celebrate. Ring in the New Year right with an Arabesque print table cloth. A table cloth with a Flag or Stars N’ Stripes print can be used on July 4th to show just how important your county is to you. Preparing for a Halloween Party? Select a table cloth made from a print like Boo or Spider Web. Serve your Thanksgiving gobbler atop a table cloth such as Fall Festival. Use napkins and an apron made from a print like Falling Leaves. an Evergreen table cloth, Jingle table napkins, Snow Flurry placemats or Season’s Greetings Christmas tree skirt can be utilized to round out the year. Modify your style as often as you need to. With so many unique options available, it’s not necessary to resolve to use the same cloth year after year. If you put thought into both the holiday and how your home looks then express this to your family and guests by using table cloths.

If having a theme partys is your thing, then you will be pleased to know that there are a variety of prints available for use as table cloths that are sure to correspond to each theme you have. Express a maritime theme with a table cloth print like Newport or Anchors Aweigh. When it comes to your annual luau opt for South Pacific, Toucan or Key Largo for your table cloths. Consider a Casino print table cloth to liven up your regular poker game or Birds and Butterflies for a weekly garden club gathering. Once you choose to use a theme print for the table cloth itself then look at co-ordinating with colorful linen napkins or placemats and your tables are certain to be the talk of the party. Preparing a beautiful table shows your guests that you actually care that they are there.

Planning more of a “one time only” occasion such as a graduation, prom or wedding? Consider renting linens to make the party still more fantastic. A conventional approach might have you coordinating school colors or the color scheme of the wedding by using table linens made of 100% spun or woven polyester. For a more modern approach rent table cloths constructed from Awning Stripe, Lace, Sheer Stripe or Polka Dot. Still, don’t stop there. Complete your party’s appearance by renting table napkins, placemats, table skirts or even chair covers. The use of table cloths and table linens make it look like no detail was overlooked – furnishing you with a reputation as the most organized host or hostess.

Dental Benefits could Help Retain and Recruit Employees

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Simplyhealth’s Annual Dental Survey shows that while 71% of employers are in favour of companies offering oral health benefits to employees, only 56% companies actually offer this facility. The survey was conducted with over 250 HR Managers and Directors through a research agency hired by Simplyhealth.

The survey also showed that 84% of the HR managers interviewed were of the opinion that employees are not able to afford dental checkups and treatment on their own. The same answer was given by 73% of the respondents last year.

64% of the HR managers, as against 51% in the previous year, said that staff morale can be improved with the introduction of dental health schemes. 56% thought of such benefits as a way to reduce sick leaves and 54% thought that they help in recruitment and retention of employees. Around 40% of the employers who do offer such benefits believe that they facilitate engagement with employees.

Corporate Director at Simplyhealth, James Glover, said that despite the companies being aware of their responsibilities; only 56% actually put such schemes in effect. Of this 56%, half believe that these benefits help reduce absence and 48% are of the opinion that they helps them keep track of the leaves taken against dental problems. This shows that dental help schemes are beneficial to the employers as well, he said.

Mr. Glover pointed towards the major obstructions in offering dental benefits like the cost and complexities involved, but urged that as access to good dental care is difficult for the employees, companies should ensure the provision of these mutually beneficial schemes.

Try on A Home Before Buying

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

It’s commonplace to try on suits, dresses, trousers or shoes before buying them. People instinctively know they need to try on clothes to be sure they fit, feel comfortable and are attractive on them. What about a home? It’s probably the most expensive purchase you’ll ever make. Isn’t it even more important to “try on” a home before you purchase it?

What on earth do I mean? Well, it’s usual to look for a home in places that are convenient to work and schools. Most folks take the daily commute into consideration when shopping for a home. Why not take the daily, weekly, and even monthly activities of family members consciously into account, too?

Case Study

I once helped a young, single woman named Wendy to find and buy her first home. She worked for Geico, was rising very nicely in the company and wanted a home of her own and the tax break home ownership affords. She asked my advice about choosing, and we had a conversation in which I mentioned many of the sorts of things I’ve said here. We made a list of what mattered to her. Then we went shopping. We looked at a lot of houses. After we came out of each one, we had a talk about how it measured up to Wendy’s list.

One of the houses we looked at belonged to the young woman who later became my daughter-in-law. It was brick, all on one level, had a fireplace in the living room, and had patio doors from the master bedroom and dining rooms to an enormous deck with a hot tub. It was beautifully decorated in a sort of “pared down Victorian” style. There was a brass bed, some wicker, lots of healthy house plants, and a few Victorian pieces of furniture that were actually old, family pieces. Silver framed family photos were clustered on top of the piano.

After we emerged from the house, Wendy started down the two steps to the car and then froze in place. She had the oddest expression on her face. I asked what was wrong, and she began to look sheepish and confessed, “That house is so pretty and so nicely decorated, I just enjoyed looking at it and didn’t give any thought to how I’d live in it. I just wanted it.”

We went back inside. Wendy still admired what had been done with the house, but decided it wasn’t right for her.

Knowing what’s important to you can save costly mistakes. The process of “trying on” a house helps you evaluate what’s important. I think you’ll find it’s worth the effort.

Injecting RNA into Abnormal Cells: Gene Therapy May Beat Mesothelioma

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

RNA therapy is a original means of soothing health problems made up of cancers, including pleural mesothelioma. It can be defined as the therapy which exploits hereditary substances or genes which does propel a protein in the bacterium or hinder with the blend of enzyme in a cell to treat a health problem. Genes are simple biological units of heredity. They are sub-parts of genes that contains the instruction for manufacturing enzymes. These genetic materials are sited in the chromosomes within the basis of the cells. Pertaining to the Human Genome Project most of the RNA in humans have been mapped. Homosapiens have around 30,000 and forty-thousand strands of genetic materials. At the point these RNA are modified either by transmutation or by removing, it might work differently ensuing in carcinomas.

Investigation is underway to use DNA therapy to attempt to cure carcinomas likes malignant mesothelioma. RNA therapy aims at either developing the capability of the healthy cells to fight the carcinomas or straightforwardly wipe out the cancer cells or thwart their expansion. At present genetic therapy is merely under clinical trials and at present it cannot be tried for curing sicknesses including carcinoma. It may take years to discover if it does have a significant role in the caring of cancer.

In genetic therapy genes are implanted in to the cells that are targeted. Most of the medical testing are performed using p53 gene. This DNA is called Tumor suppressor gene. If this gene malfunctions, it may end in many varying sorts of cancer like colon cancer, stomach carcinoma, esophageal carcinoma,, lung carcinoma, etc. In DNA therapy, this genetic material and other wanted DNA are brought in to the target cells to thwart the expansion of carcinoma.

The DNA is normally incorporated to the patients cells by these methods: Microinjection of DNA into the cells and Electroporation. Genetic material transporters are called a vector. The vector in most of the cases is a virus. These diseases are altered so that they do not produce any sickness in the person and hence are not harmful. The change also makes the disease to reach the selected cells. The vectors are picked based on the precise details and specifications like the way they send genetic materials to the cells that are recognizable and are able to contaminate, and whether they mutate the cells chromosomes forever or briefly.

The city of Rennes

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Rennes, located at 300 kilometers southwest of Paris, towards the northwestern area of France, is the municipal capital of the region of Brittany and one of the most interesting towns of it as well. There are several interesting characteristics about this city, such as, for example, its history and its constructions, some of them among the most ancient of the region.

Rennes economy is based on its agriculture as well as some industrial products. It produces an important amount of agricultural products which are consumed within the region as well as throughout several other places. Besides this, Rennes also produces farm equipment, railroad related products and cars among others.

At its origins, Rennes was the main city of the Celtic Redones. After that, this town became part of the Romans domains, and the next important historic fact happened during the XX century, when it was named capital of Brittany. this way, this city has had an important role in many époques as well as it has gone through several important changes.

During the XVIII century, around the year 1720, Rennes went through a disastrous fire which caused it to lose many of its original buildings and caused its general appearance to change. Later, during World War II, Rennes became again badly affected, this time for bombing, which again caused it to loose some of its constructions.

Although many of its original buildings and constructions disappeared, many others still remain almost unchanged. Among these constructions there are, for example, the Duchesne Tower from the XV century, the Palais Saint Georges from the XVII century, the Opera from the XIX century, many mansions from the XVII century and others from the XIX century, and several squares from the XVIII century among others.

The Chapel of Saint Yves is another great construction located in Rennes and which still shows many of its original characteristics unchanged. This building was constructed during the XV century, and is an amazing inheritance from the past. Besides the construction itself, those who approach the Cathedral of Saint Yves can also visit permanent exhibitions which take place within its walls.

My Party Life in the Breathtaking City of London this Spring

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

It looks to be that each and every time I open up a London paper I witness an ad for the most popular nightclub in London, or the newest west end production. The city of London is full of life, the individuals here are incredible, the nightlife is hardcore and the stores are heaving with residents spending their income. Book a Past Life Regression with Anne Jirsch today.

When I first arrived in this city, the very first thing I did was head down to Bond Street and pick myself up a pair of jeans. The second thing I did was put on my new purchase and head out to Islington to dance till the tiny hours. This cycle of spending and partying seems to be taken up by most 20 year old guys and gals.

I am also shocked at the options that are on offer in London, I recently went to find a hypnotherapist who hypnotised me back to a past time; of course I was a rich poet. Wild and shocking but real apparently, and I am consistently curious on how numerous successful men and women have their very own personal gym trainers and life management coaches. These men and women are forever running all around achieving and making loads of money, wonder if life management coaching will be suitable for me. And lets not forget fabulous Soho and all the marital aid shops, you will always behold an obscene looking sex toy in the window displays. Use hypnosis in london to gain success your life. The great thing about London is it has the best Anal Beads.

What’s The Difference Between Frame Relay, Private Line, & A Point-To-Point T1?

Friday, May 8th, 2009

How is “an expensive frame relay type service to the internet” different than a “less expensive plain T1 to the internet”….AND how are either of these different from a private line or point-to-point T1?

Here’s my opinion……

Don’t worry about the technology difference between frame relay and a plain T1….or either of these and a private line or point to point T1.

A frame T1 runs at just about the same speed as a point to point T1. Much more important to worry about is what’s on the other end of the circuit. If the other end of the circuit is the internet backbone, and you have 1.5M throughput to the backbone, then that’s a “dedicated” connection, the best grade of service you can get. If the other end of the circuit is to a carrier’s serving office, or DSLAM, or aggregation point, then the 1.5M throughput is to their equipment, not to the internet backbone, and you have a “shared” connection. A shared connection means that your provider has arranged for a bulk internet connection from a larger carrier and it splits some out for you — but rarely do they split out your bandwidth only for you.

For example a shared provider might buy a wholesale DS-3 from Global Crossing. A DS-3 is the equivalent of 28 T1 circuits. The shared ISP would try to have many customers sharing that T1 circuit, much more than 28 customers — that’s how they make money.

Same thing with phone systems — you might have twenty extension phones in your office, but only 5 phone lines with the phone company. This recognizes that not all users need to use the phone at the same time.

In the internet world, shared ISPs are betting that not all customers need their full bandwidth at the same time. If a shared provider pays $6000 per month for a DS-3, and sells T1s for $300/month, they break even at 20 customers. ISPs will oversell their bandwidth because not all customers need their full bandwidth at all times. If you’ve been reading this message for the past 15 seconds, and your PC is doing nothing else, you haven’t used your bandwidth for the past now 20 seconds.

Now…..if you need the internet circuit for email, and looking at web pages, and research, a shared T1 connection is fine. But if you’re running time sensitive or bandwidth hogging applications like hosting a website at your location, or if you’re running VOIP applications, or streaming audio or video, or controlling machinery remotely … then a shared T1 connection will be a big PIA (pain in the *&!) at some point during the month when the other customers will be sucking up all the bandwidth leaving you with less than you are paying for.

So don’t worry about the technology of the access circuit, worry about what’s on the other end. If you can get away with a shared T1 connection, you’ll save some loot. If you have critical applications, then your life will be filled with drama until you get a dedicated T1 connection.

The Truth & Myths of Hair Loss

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

From standing on your head for fifteen minutes a day to trimming some hair to make it grow it back lusher, there?s never been a shortage of insights looking for a miracle remedy to baldness. Thus here?s the reality, much of it surprising, on what will probably greatly assist those looking for the answer to hair loss.

Does standing on one’s head actually improve hair grow?

Fantasy. All this is a fantasy hyped on the basis that increased blood flow would combat hair loss. If only it was that easy.

Smoking discourages one’s hair growth.

Truth! Yes, this one is TRUE as smoking destroys hair follicles, interferes with blood and hormone flow in one’s scalp & amplifies production of hair shrinking oestregen. However another reason to give up!

Consuming bread crusts puts hairs around one’s chest.

Truth! Yes, & not primarily your chest. The rationale being that bread crusts contain eight times further antioxidants than the rest of the loaf. Investigation shows that antioxidants are a vital part of cultivating scalp circulation & produce melanin, the hormone that makes your hair thicker.

Baldness discloses how smart you are.

Fact! All that is not a myth promoted by balding scientists in white coats, nevertheless is in fact true. The better your levels of brain growth protein, the more possible it is for your hair to fall out. More around this when those scientists truly get their brain cells firing.

A short hair cut makes your hair grow back thicker.

False! All hair above skin level is in fact dead, therefore cutting it short comes with no affect on the thickness & strength of hair growing back. The reason for this fantasy is that short, bristly hair will often have the apperance of being thicker, but once it grows the true. state of affairs is exposed.

And in the end, if you really want a full head of hair it?s probably best to get a professional. One company that has made a name for itself by having sports stars and celebrities to advertise the fact that being bald is not cool is Advanced Hair Studio. With a long list of celebrity endorsements stretching back over 20 years Advanced Hair Studio has become The of the best known hair restoration companies 1 the world. See Naples and Die!

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

There is a saying in Italy that goes ‘vedi Napoli e poi muori’. Translated, this means ’see Naples and die’. The actual meaning of this refers to being overwhelmed by what a beautiful and an incredible city Naples is. (although some may argue that what it really means that Naples is such a dangerous and chaotic city that it will kill you!)

Love it or hate it, Naples really is a city and a half. It is full of life and the life is full of passion. And yes, you may have heard some negative things about Naples, but there are so many more positive things about Naples, it would be a shame to make a judgement without ever having visited the place yourself. In my opinion, it is probably the most colourful, vibrant and magical city in Europe, if not the World.

True, Naples could be considered as chaotic, with cars and vespas racing around the city not paying attention to traffic lights -and in some cases, especially around the historical centre, there are no pavements, but long narrow roads in which to accommodate both traffic and people. It could also be considered as corrupt or dangerous by some, with gang warfare by the Camorra (Neapolitan Mafia) still operating here, and teenage street boys that mug people by snatching their bags while scooting past on vespas (Not to mention stories circulating such as a woman who went into a shop to buy some clothes, but never came out….when the police were alerted by her husband she was apparantly found in the old city ruins underneath the shop being smuggled to god knows where……)

But one thing that Naples could NEVER be considered is….BORING!

Yes there are some bad points, but there are considerably many more good points than bad. The whole point of Naples is that the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ contrast each other to such an extreme it is breathtaking. The long, narrow, dusty, cobbled roads that can be found, especially in the historical centre (centro storico) can be found filled with washing hanging from balconies and washing lines, vespas constantly beeping their horns and scooting around, street urchins (or ’scugnizzi’ as they are called) playing football in the street, stray dogs or cats rooting around the streets for food, and shady characters selling contraband cigarettes by the side of the road-but turn the corner or just happen to glance upwards from all the chaos and confusion and you could suddenly find yourself looking at the most beautiful church you have ever seen, or a view of the amazing Amalfi Coast and Vesuvious overlooking the sea.

You just never know with Naples. That is the beauty and the magic of it. Beautiful churches, museums and architecture are to be found all around the city, many forgotten about, because there are just simply so many. The city is full of history, culture and art. I once brought a friend to Naples, and she said she could ‘feel’ the history. This was such a great statement, as you really can feel the history; there is just so much art and culture around. Most of the buildings in the centro storico are the original buildings and palazzi which date back to the 12th or 13th century, with very high ceilings and original paintwork. Most original palazzi that used to belong to Neapolitan Aristocracy or Royalty are now just family homes or bed and breakfasts. There is also an underground city in Naples, (you can go on an organised tour) and some Greek ruins to be seen in Port’Alba (an area in Naples in centro storico that used to be frequented by poets and students, and is still quite bohemian), which there are still stories of people using this network for smuggling.

As mentioned before, it is the contrast of things which can sometimes be so amazing. For example shopping in the market in Via dei Tribunali which is deep in the historical centre, you notice the poverty, the chaos, the ‘dustiness’ of the city. Yet five minutes walk down the road you find yourself in Piazza Plebiscito; one of the most beautiful piazzas I have ever seen. Absolutely huge, with beautiful architecture, from which you can see the sea and 3 of the Italy’s most visited tourist destinations; Sorrento, Ischia and the beautiful island of Capri… It is also next to the very grand Gran Caffe`Gambrinus, a very famous bar and restaurant thats been open since the 1860’s, and used to be frequented by Oscar Wilde when he spent time in Naples in 1898 (he once had a vision of a ghost there ). It also marks the beginning of the Chiaia district which is one of the most desirable districts of central Naples, with designer shops, bars and restaurants.

Another contrast that is very apparant is the people themselves. Neapolitans are very passionate and expressive people, and can talk like there’s no tomorrow. They talk with their hands a lot and quite often raise their voices, which can be mistaken for arguing-but once you get to know the people, you will realise that what seems like an argument, is usually just a ‘discussion’! (about football, or how to cook a certain pasta dish). As Naples (and indeed in the rest of Italy as many other countries with warm weather) has an ‘outdoor’ culture, you will often see many people, teenagers and children just ‘hanging around’ or having a walk or passeggiata, talking about things. You might see people arguing one minute, and then people singing the next so don’t be alarmed!

Vedi Napoli e poi muori….discover for yourself!
