Coach’s Dating Tip: Stumble Upon Meaningful Relationships

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Look, I’m not your typical cheesball single man, all too interested in going without a date on a Friday night. It’s unlikely readers probably never heard me talk much about great dating and relationships. No surprise.

Dependence is an avoidable popular feeling and completely ripped out of my family history. But I do have a tender heart. Here’s the situation, I had to end a solid fling which meant a lot for us but essentially deadended for both of us. Therefore you could tell ya it has been ages since I was dating. I’m missing the great expectations for dating that came naturally before.

Being single is new and free. It’s a given that I refuse to lounge about, peacefully devowering Two and a Half Men episodes off the torrents. The real reason for this case of fresh break-up dating boredom? This isn’t college, and there are fewer available women.

My go-getting football friend, Andrew, who will never have dating apathy, informed me he’s almost in the same boat. He linked me to the Great Expectations Dating service. Of course, I take to mingling among attractive gals with similar interests. So I put myself on a plan and paid the membership fee to get started.

I told myself, there ain’t room to feel down by being alone if you haven’t stepped off the bench. Like my college baseball coach Chris Smith carried on as his idea of encouragement, “Fools lose before they try, sparky.”

The man didn’t know my name. Even so, he was truly a wise sould without being self-righteous. He was good humored. This fun series of Dallas singles events I just went to might’ve short circuted his brain.

At great expectations singles events I spent time with a few quality and appealing ladies that catch my expectations. I actually had a carefree night with some terrific remarkable singles. I ducked out of the mixer a little early following an exchange of digits, and as a plus, I came across some political connections for work. Success.

Take action. You won’t be happy if you don’t. Don’t sell yourself short, believe in your own great expectations for your dating life.

Live It Up!

Coping with Myopia

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

One of the most commonplace reasons for being prescribed spectacles is shortsightedness

shortsightedness is another word for nearsightedness. So a nearsighted person sees best when looking up close, however when looking into the distance – struggles to focus. Nobody really understands why one person becomes myopic, there is likely to be a combination of gene problems and environmental elements.

How shortsighted you are is determined by how badly working the cornea and lens of the eye are – as well as how long your eye balls are! Normally, the eye processes a visual light image by interpreting the light signals and transmitting them into electrical signals in the retina. If the eyes focus the light ahead of time, you are shortsighted.

Unlike many other aspects in life, myopia tends to improve with time. Nobody is definitely sure as to why this is, on the other hand it may be the lens becomes stiffer with age and so can not focus the rays of light so acutely. What then follows is the focal point of the light, becomes closer and closer to the retina.

myopia affects about 25% of Americans.

Using a variety of techniques, trained eye care practitioners can assess whether or not a child is able to focus clearly. They use play, retinoscopy and refraction to help them do this carefully.

The type and extent of shortsightedness is determined by additional testing. These tests include an evaluation of the child’s binocular vision, his eye movements, his ability to converge and focus on objects close-up, and his ocular health. Dilation of the eye allows the doctor to check for complications of ROP, diabetes, or degenerative shortsightedness.

There are many children who will be falsely assessed to be shortsighted, because of their natural tendency to over focus. To counter this, a trained eye pratitioner will often elect to dilate the pupils with some eye drops to prevent the child’s lenses from over correcting.

shortsightedness is most commonly treated with spectacles or specs. myopia in preschool children does not need to be corrected with glasses, unless either anisometropia, a condition in which there is a difference of more than 1.00 diopters between the two eyes, or amblyopia, a condition in which a child cannot be corrected to 20/20 with spectacles, is present.

As the child enters school, distance vision becomes critical for learning, and children with prescriptions of at least 1.00 diopter of nearsightedness or who have 20/40 vision or worse should be given glasses. Once a child is diagnosed with shortsightedness, he or she should be examined every six months to a year, and each eye should be corrected to 20/20 at each visit.

The eyeglasses are then usually worn full time, except for children with difficulty with convergence (esophoria), who may remove their spectacles for close work.

We Finally Decided on a Leather Sofa

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

We decided that we wanted to get some new furniture this year instead of going on the big vacation that we usually take in the Summer. Our kids didn’t mind much at all since they both wanted to get new bedroom furnishings too. We decided on a leather sofa and love seat group for the living room and we got some gorgeous tables to go in there too. I know that my daughter has already picked her new furniture, I think that my son is still looking though. I know that they both like the big screen TV that we got for the den however.I really like to shop, so when my husband gave me the go ahead to get some new living room furniture I was so excited. It didn’t take me long to find the sofa that I wanted and it didn’t take long for us to receive it either. The new leather sleeper sofa that I bought looks just perfect in our living room and the matching love seat and chair looks just as nice. The reason I got a sleeper sofa is because we often have company and we only have one guest bedroom. So I thought that a sleeper sofa would be best.
