The survey also showed that 84% of the HR managers interviewed were of the opinion that employees are not able to afford dental checkups and treatment on their own. The same answer was given by 73% of the respondents last year.

64% of the HR managers, as against 51% in the previous year, said that staff morale can be improved with the introduction of dental health schemes. 56% thought of such benefits as a way to reduce sick leaves and 54% thought that they help in recruitment and retention of employees. Around 40% of the employers who do offer such benefits believe that they facilitate engagement with employees.

Corporate Director at Simplyhealth, James Glover, said that despite the companies being aware of their responsibilities; only 56% actually put such schemes in effect. Of this 56%, half believe that these benefits help reduce absence and 48% are of the opinion that they helps them keep track of the leaves taken against dental problems. This shows that dental help schemes are beneficial to the employers as well, he said.

Mr. Glover pointed towards the major obstructions in offering dental benefits like the cost and complexities involved, but urged that as access to good dental care is difficult for the employees, companies should ensure the provision of these mutually beneficial schemes.

Protect against Accident Claims

Car insurance is one of those areas too many people, even in minority, seek to avoid, driving without proper protection. While there are savings to be made with Third Party Fire and Theft, it really is recommended to ensure you have comprehensive car insurance from a reputable provider. This is not least because of the increasing number of uninsured drivers on the road, which means that car insurance should be seen as protection for the driver, rather than against the driver. This is especially in the case where someone may need to make an accident claim on their insurance. While people tend to think of major crashes as the most dangerous, even collisions which result in minimal damage to the car can cause serious injury to the driver, without them even knowing it.A common injury that typifies this is in the case of whiplash injuries, which can begin as a sore neck, but left untreated, whiplash can developed into a major condition with larger symptoms, not least pain and numbness across the whole back and arms. While car insurance isn’t intended to pay for the damage in the event of an injury caused by a car accident, it can at least help offset any costs incurred in the event of whiplash claims, not least time spent off work because of the injury. In the meantime, people who drive on just Third Party Fire and Theft need to consider whether only the basic level of protection is really going to suit them, especially when minor accidents can have a major impact on those involved, and their lifestyles.
